Hello World

December 19, 2021

A few years ago, my mom took the job of Campus Ministry Director at St. Anthony High School and inherited the responsibilities of the Christian Service Program there. With about 200 students with 60 hours of service required, the administrative work of the program was a full-time job.

But service to God and the community is only a small part of Campus Ministry. Between planning retreats, mission trips, bible study, decorating the chapel, and simply being there for students - Mom didn't have much time to keep tabs on 200 students, 400 parents and thousands of service hours. The students needed a spiritual leader and mentor - to grow stronger in their faith - not be an Excel wizard or tech guru.

I think many Catholic schools have this same dilemma.

A humble idea to help

My brother and I both tried at different times to help Mom. We are both engineers and wanted to help her succeed in her first job after raising 6 kids. 7works started as a Google Sheets template, then it could send automated emails. Somewhere between then and now, 7works got a name, a website, and an app for students.

7works for all

After about 18 months of testing and refinement with St. Anthony High School - I am happy to announce that 7works is now available for any school that wants to track and approve service hours. That's the beauty of software, if you've built it for 1 school - you've built it for 100.

We're not done

Each school that joins 7works brings unique challenges, and ideas for improvement - and as long as 7works can stay simple to use, and affordable for school - 7works will keep evolving.

Though Mom is no longer the Campus Ministry Director - I'm looking forward to meeting all the others out there who are in her same boat. Please reach out!
